    Music Masterclass

Friday, January 29, 2021 at 3:00 PM until 7:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

    Anderson University
    316 Boulevard
    Anderson, SC 29621
    United States

The performance Masterclass is designed for students to take advantage of an in-depth view of the South Carolina School of the Arts Music program.

The Music Faculty of The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University will conduct an exclusive masterclass for high school singers and instrumentalists. Develop your musical skills, hear our students and see our faculty at work, all in a welcoming, supportive atmosphere. Masterclass performers should prepare a solo from the standard repertoire for their instrument.

Out of an abundance of caution, this year's Masterclass will be in hyflex format: There will be simultaneous in-person and Zoom meetings. Everyone will have the option of participating virtually. Keyboardists, string players, and percussionists may choose to attend in person. A tentative schedule is included below. You will receive a more detailed agenda closer to the event.

3:00 Opening Session—Zoom or Daniel Recital Hall
4:00 Masterclass—Zoom and various Fine arts Center Locations
         6:00 Dismissal

All students, regardless of instrument, must upload a video of their performance to be viewed during the masterclass. The deadline for video submissions is Friday, January 22, 2021.

Students participating virtually should plan to attend from a location in which they are comfortable singing or playing. If accompaniment is necessary, students attending virtually may use recorded accompaniment or have a live accompanist with them. In-person participants who need accompaniment may bring a pianist or perform with an AU accompanist (see below).

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
